Program Overview

Five quarters, 87 credits, Student Handbook, Program Forms
The Dental Assistant Certificate of Completion Program prepares students for entry-level employment within the Dental Industry. Students are taught chair-side dental assisting through lecture, hands-on experience, and 298 hours of mandatory clinical experience in the field.

Classes are taught in a state-of-the-art dental environment located at SVI (with dental services available on Wednesday and Thursday). Certified SVI instructors conduct classes and a licensed dentist lectures and demonstrates patient procedures.

Coursework includes anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, clinical procedures, and specialty dental courses that prepare our students for employment following completion of the program.

Admission Policy

Students must meet the Career Programs Assessment Test (CPAt) and CASAS scores for admission and provide proof of a high school diploma or GED® to obtain a Certificate of Completion. This is also a Veterans Administration (VA) approved program.
